What a wonderful spring day it was on Saturday 1 November for the Rosalie Fete. The whole day ran so smoothly and was a huge success thanks to the great co ordination and management by the Fete Committee. It was lovely to see so many Rosalie families, past students and community members all enjoying themselves and contributing to the success of the day. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE!

EDUCATION WEEK 2008
EDUCATION AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
ROSALIE PRIMARY SCHOOL
SCHOOL OF THE YEAR 2008

School of the Year
Rosalie was very proud and pleased to received this award during Education Week 2008. Below is the Citation presented with the Award.
Rosalie Primary School is known as the ‘country school in the city’ because of its excellent environmental programs featuring the award winning Rosalie chickens. Tree planting, their Organic Garden and the close positive links the school has with the local and wider school community adds to the country feel. The school works hard to ensure that every child has a positive, happy and rewarding school experience and over the years this has resulted in consistently high academic standards being achieved. The large number of ex-students who regularly come back to visit the school is testimony to the affection students have for this school.
Parents are true partners in the education of the children. Over time an outstanding range of high quality educational opportunities have been developed. The annual Artist-in-Residence Program, the Year Seven Musicals, the Rosalie Writers’ Festivals, the innovative ANZAC Dawn Services, the 2008 Olympic Opening Ceremony and Games Day and the Science and Maths Extravanganza to name but a few. The school has been an integral part of the Shenton Park community for more than 100 years and in 2006 the Centenary Committee organised many wonderful events including the School Train Trip and PIcnic Day, the Centenary Art Exhibition and the ‘Back to Rosalie Day’. The school’s ethos is reflected in the school’s slogan - ROSALIE PRIMARY SCHOOL - PROUD TRADITION – SHAPING FUTURES.
This year Rosalie Primary School won both the State and National 2008 School’s ANZAC Award, presented by the Department for Veteran’s Affairs. For many years Rosalie has participated in the World Vision 40 Hour Famine and for the past nine years has been the highest fund raising school in Western Australia. This year the school community donated sporting goods to Sali School in the Solomon Islands as part of an Army Reserve deployment involving several staff members.
The all-round education provided for all students at Rosalie is what makes it a worthy winner of the 2008 School of the Year Award.
