Chess at Rosalie

The Friday afternoon Chess class in the Library still has places for more students. Leo from Chess Rules Australia does a great job at getting the kids to learn Chess and have fun at the same time. If you are interested, please see Leo in the library straight after school on Friday

ROSALIE WRITERS FESTIVAL 2008 – ‘Out of This World’

Another very successful Writers Festival was held this week from Tuesday 20 – Thursday 22 May.  The students were treated to some very interesting and creative presentations which captured their imagination and had them ‘asking for more’!  All students and staff enjoyed meeting the authors  and gaining an insight into the ‘world of writing’ during  the class sessions held over the three days of the Festival.

Activities such as the Breakfast Launch,  the Pizza Lunch and the Parents’ ‘Words and Wine’ Evening  through to the Closing Celebration  provided everyone with extra opportunities to meet and mingle with authors ’Out of the World of Writing’.   Well done to everyone involved for another fantastic Rosalie Writers Festival.

ANZAC Dawn Service

Hundreds of parents, community members and returned servicemen joined Rosalie students for the school’s traditional ANZAC Dawn Service on Friday 11 April 2008.

Kokoda Track was the theme of this year’s service, the story being re enacted in a jungle setting by Year 7 students as if they were the Diggers on the Track.  The school’s military connection was further enhanced with two teachers, both Army Reserve members dressed in full Military Dress leading the parade of wreath layers.
