English

The English Curriculum is organised into three interrelated strands; together these strands focus on developing our students’ knowledge, understanding and skills in writing, reading, viewing, speaking and listening. A coordinated and planned approach to literacy learning provides direction in planning for improvement. The three strands are:

  • Language- knowing about the English language
  • Literature- understanding, appreciating, responding to, analysing and creating literature.
  • Literacy – expanding the repertoire of English

At Rosalie, our teachers design learning experiences which support students in developing functional and critical literacy skills. Teachers are supported in working to meet the literacy needs of the students in their care.
